Halfway Point!!

Today was great we did a lot things. We started the day with Alice, we learned how to program a title page and make different scenes. Our project is The Three Little Fish and the Big Bad Shark and we just realized how much programming this is going to take. The whole time we worked on it we only accomplished the title page and the set up of our first scenewe have our wrk cut out for us. After Alice we did LilyPad we learned how to sew which took a long time and planning, we use special cunductive string that allows the circuit to work its really cool. We also began drawing our projects.

Thursday!!

We stared the day off with LilyPad, we where painting today and i was very happy that my bag is coming out the way i want it to.For the programing i was trying to  put the song La Bamba, but it didn't go so well it ended up sounding like a Irish folk song so that's something i have to work on. While we were working State representatives came to look at our camp and asked us questions which was a little nerve racking but exiting because of what it could mean for YWIC.  After lunch we began working on our Alice projects, Susi taught us how to program music into our animation so we made a dramatic intro page with an awesome Jaws theme song. We finished another scene in the project and now we only have three or four to go. After Alice we did forensics!! super fun finger printing, i found out my finger print classification is 9/1. that means that i have only one whorl on my right hand and the rest are arch and loops. After doing our own prints we got to lift prints from different object and we had to identified if they belonged to Susi, Linday, and Noor. In a group with Analysa, Jade, and Rose we found Linday and Noor's prints, pretty cool.
For the Prompt:
in 10 years i think i would still be in school, going into a career in the medical field school will take a long time.I want a bachelors in biochemical engineering as a premed and hopefully get into med school for pediatrics. If school doesn't take as long i hope to be working at a hospital in pediatrics and planing to start a clinic of my own. As for family i hope to not be living with  my parents any more and have found a place to live on my own, I don't know where i would want to live but I would prefer a place with hotter climate.
Can't wait for tomorrow and i can't believe that the camp is more than half way over it went by so fast.

Camp Day 2

Today at camp we learned two new programs, Alice and LegoNXT. Alice was taught by Susi and we created a scene from Nemo, it was a lot of fun but Alice is very time consuming because it takes a lot of steps for every single move. For LegoNXT was taught by Linday and we made a jumping gymnast, the Lego robot, which we had to build, made a 360 flip, very cool!!  I as working with Jade and we got ours to work very quickly. In the morning we worked on our apps i am working with Analysa and Sabrina began working with us since she just came in today. We made a lot of progress today finishing all our questions having only the programing left (which is the most important part ).
For our activities we did the human knot. it was hilarious. The first time we almost had every one out until we realized two people had their own circle once we solved that we were able to untangle our selves. The second time we made two circles  by accident and it took us way longer to untangle our selves. The  second activity was making a pyramid, we made two of six people each. I was on the bottom of mine and we were successful for a little while then we toppled but luckily i didn't get squished.

YWIC Camp Day 1

YWIC camp Day 1

Today at camp i was able to meet all the girls, it is a small camp since almost everyone is from out of town. There is girls from Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Los Alamos they all get to stay in the dorms which seems exciting. At camp i became friends with Jade, she is from Santa  Fe and is going to be sophomore. I enjoyed the day a lot we ate a The Game which has delicious food.

Well to tell you a little about me my name is Sofia Bali I am 15 years old and am going to be a senior (possibly junior depends on credits). I am living in Las Cruces going to Centennial High School. I love running so sports that i'm in are Track and Cross country and i say everyone should do these because all you need to run is dedication (and a pair of running shoes). The first day of instruction was a lot of fun. Our instructors are awesome they look like they're really enjoying what they are doing which makes it fun for us. The core concepts was long but covered all the material very well and prepared us for a fun Jeopardy game. I was in a team with the twins and Dasha and we won so it was a lot of fun. We also had to make a poster presenting one topic from the core concepts, I was on a team with Jade and our topic was Conditional Statements & Loops, we had to pick a team name so we called ourselves the Froggies. We voted for the best poster and we will find out who wins on sunday so i can't wait.

Looking forward to tomorrow
